Your Hygiene Routine

The important role of the dental hygienist

A good daily dental hygiene routine will ensure your teeth and gums are rid of the daily build up of plaque and tartar whilst regular dental hygienist appointments for teeth cleaning, remove the plaque and tartar in those harder to reach places to prevent cavities, gingivitis, and gum disease.

Dental Hygiene Appointments

Gum disease and tooth decay is the most common global disease affecting every household. Over 80% of cavities occur inside pits and fissures on chewing surfaces where brushing cannot reach food left trapped after every meal or snack and saliva or fluoride have no access to neutralise acid and re-mineralise demineralised tooth.

We provide dental hygiene appointments with our experienced dental hygienists in to fully clean your teeth and gums and advice on your daily dental hygiene routine.

Our dental hygienists can help with halitosis treatment too, this can be a common result of poor dental hygiene.

Our Appointments Include

  • Dental hygiene examination to look for any inflammation, bleeding and plaque or calculus build up.
  • Scaling & polishing to remove all plaque and calculus with a variety of the latest equipment including the latest air polishing which fires a jet of air, water and sodium bicarbonate at your teeth to remove debris and polish the surface.
  • Daily dental hygiene advice and routine to ensure you can maintain those areas visibly accessible on a day to day basis in between dental hygiene appointments and ensure long term problems caused by poor dental hygiene remain at bay.

Hygiene Options

We brush regularly, we floss, we use mouth wash, but sometimes that isn’t enough to remove plaque deposits. Oral health is an important part of your overall health so visiting the hygienist is vital to long term optimum oral health.

Stain Removal

Our AirFlow treatment is designed to remove simple tooth staining caused by red wine, tea, coffee and smoking.

Although this treatment is not a tooth whitening therapy, the AirFlow will significantly improve tooth brightness and give you a noticeably sparkling fresh healthy mouth in an instant.

What is Airflow polishing?

Airflow polishing is a new hygiene cleaning treatment that uses a mixture of air, jet water and sodium bicarbonate to polish and clean your teeth dramatically during your hygiene visits.

The treatment is not a chemical treatment and therefore there will be no risk to the patients for any irritation or chemical burns. Airflow polishing is an advanced version of a scaling and polish treatment, but the patient will walk away the same day with amazing, clean results.

How does Airflow polishing work?

The Airflow polishing system shoots a high pressured blast of water, bicarbonate (usually lemon flavour), and air through a small nozzle onto the surfaces of the patients teeth and has been proven to be an effective tool at removing stains and plaque.

Airflow is able to get into the nooks and cranny’s of your teeth, giving you an overall really effective good clean, leaving you with clean, healthy teeth and gums.
